Thordon Bearings designs and manufactures the most complete line of grease/oil-free water process-lubricated pump bearings for axial flow, fixed flow and vertical pumps. Utilizing Thordon, a unique polymer alloy, as the bearing wear surface, you will achieve :
- Strong wear resistance and longer life
- Lower friction
- Dry start-up capability
- Improved pump efficiency
- Easy to machine and install, in new pumps or in conversions
Thordon Bearings produces several pump bearing grades which offer specific operating advantages in any pump bearing application: Thordon XL is excellent for water-lubricated applications and limited dry running performance. Thordon SXL is the preferred choice for dry start-up operation, with a lower dry coefficient of friction, and similar wear life and abrasion resistance properties as Thordon XL. GM2401 bearings are specially formulated to provide outstanding wear life in abrasive operating conditions. ThorPlas can be used in relatively non-abrasive pump bearing applications with water temperatures up to 80°C as well as offering improved chemical resistance compared with other Thordon material grades. Pump OEMs that have also used Thordon Bearings include Ebara, KSB, ITT-Goulds Pumps, Flowserve, Weir, Sulzer, Johnston Pumps, Kirloskar and Hayward Tyler.
